On March 17 took place in Laguardia the information and demonstration workshop of the pesticides application equipment inspection process.
30 people related to vine growing world attended the workshop: vine-growers, wineries technicians, consultants and Provincial Council technicians.Profesor Emilio Gil of the UPC explained the need and reassons why inspection of pesticide application equipment is so important. Then a demonstration on the state and inspection of various equipment was performed. Attendees expressed their doubts and gave their views to the UPC team.
Furthermore, a survey was handed out to all attendees that will help to determinate the degree of knowledge that wine growers have on policy regarding the application of pesticides. This survey can be done by anyone interested and project FITOVID appreciate the cooperation. click here.
Attendees were satisfied and willing to be part of the 100 pre–inspection machines sample selected in Rioja Alavesa and 50 in Gipuzkoa. These pre–inspections serve to know the state of the machinery of each growing area, and help each landlord to make the necessary corrections before proceeding to compulsory inspection, which must be made before the end of 2016(DEuropean sustanaible use and Royal Decree 1702/2011).
