Reduce the use of pesticides in viticulture is the target of a coordinatedproject lead by NEIKER (Basque Institute for Agricultural Research andDevelopment), which will run over the next three years.
The initiative aims to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce the number of pesticide applications in the treatment of of mildew and powdery mildew diseases, the two major diseases affecting vineyards. On this day the project objectives, partners and tasks will be presented
Call for meeting and programme
Technicians of cooperatives, the Provincial Councils of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, Basque Government, HAZI, ELIKA, agricultural unions, Appellations of Origin (Arabako Txakolina, Bizkaiko Txakolina Txakolina Getariako and DO Ca. Rioja), associations related to viticulture phytosanitary and commercial houses were invited to this meeting. Ana Diez (NEIKER), project coordinator, made a general presentation of the project FITOVID (call, overall goals, specific actions, dissemination of project results) and other partners (Tecnalia AZTI, UPV / EHU and UPC ) presented the actions that will take place.
